Key Ingredients

You’ll find the full list of ingredients in the recipe card below, but here are some ingredient notes before you get started.
- Rolled Oats : The base of the recipe, offering fiber, vitamins, and minerals for a nutritious breakfast. If you need the recipe to be gluten-free, use gluten-free oats.
- Peanut Butter : Adds a creamy texture and rich flavor, along with healthy fats and protein. Use natural peanut butter (only peanuts and salt). Stir well before using!
- Mashed Bananas : The bananas add sweetness and keep the oatmeal moist. For best results, use overripe bananas that are very dark brown.
- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder : For a rich chocolatey taste! You can also use Dutch processed cocoa powder also works well for a deeper chocolate flavor. If you want a protein boost, you can also add a scoop of your favorite chocolate protein powder.
- Eggs : Help bind the ingredients together and give the oatmeal a fluffy texture. To make the recipe vegan, use flax eggs. (1 tablespoon ground flaxseed + 3 tablespoons water = 1 egg)
- Milk : Any milk works, whether dairy or plant-based like almond or cashew milk.
- Maple Syrup : Use pure maple syrup to sweeten the oatmeal.
- Chocolate Chips : I like to add chocolate chips to make the oatmeal extra decadent.
